Well, I’ve finally decided to jump head first into the WordPress.com blog world with Go Travel Abroad. I plan to post tips, ideas, reviews and general thoughts about traveling abroad gained from more than 20 years of international travel.
According to St. Augestine, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.” While it is certainly possible for a person to live happily and to die fulfilled without stepping foot out of his or her birthplace, many rich and rewarding experiences await those who move beyond such limiting frontiers.
It seems that the farther away you go and the more radical the differences in culture, the more impactful the experience. And the greatest lessons learned are not so much about how other peoples live and do things but who you are and what you are about.
My hope is that Go Travel Abroad will not only help you to prepare for the practical aspect of planning and executing an international journey, but will also help you prepare internally so that you might experience the full impact of your trip and learn more about this grand world we live in and, most importantly, about who you are in this world.
